I arrived in Accra convinced that my legal training would be my greatest asset. I left understanding that the most valuable skill was listening without forcing European legal frameworks onto other realities.

Access to justice in real life

Many of the cases I documented showed the gap between formal rights and what people can actually exercise in daily life. The law matters, but so do knowledge, access and local support structures.
